A characterful British kitchen seen through a faded blue doorway

Experienced advice.
On your side.

Renovations can be complicated. Plans, quotes, decisions, changes… it can all feel overwhelming. I’m here to help you make sense of it.

I’m Lizzie.

I’ve spent more than a decade running a main contractor building business, delivering high-end refurbishments, extensions and back-to-brick renovations for private clients in London.

I've also managed my own renovations as a homeowner, so I understand both sides.

When you want someone alongside you

From the first ideas to the final snagging list.

Renovation is full of decisions, and having someone experienced alongside you can make the whole process feel more manageable.

Wherever you are in the process, I can help you.

I bring a practical understanding of how building projects work, helping you cut through the technical stuff, talk through decisions and find the right people when you need them.

You might be:

•wondering what’s actually possible with your house

•working out whether you need an architect, designer, builder or someone else first

•developing plans and weighing up your options

•looking at quotes, drawings or specifications and wanting someone who understands the building side to talk them through with you

•working through changes with your builder and wanting to understand what’s involved

•making decisions that could affect the budget, programme or finished result

•wondering whether something on site needs attention

What I actually do

I help you see the whole picture.

I bring a practical understanding of how building projects work, alongside an understanding of what it’s like to be the homeowner making the decisions.

I can help you work through plans and proposals, talk through options, understand what you’re being asked to decide and identify what needs your attention.

Sometimes you’ll want to talk something through. Sometimes you’ll want me to look at something with you. And sometimes you’ll need help finding the right person to bring in.

The aim is simple: to give you the experience, perspective and support to move your renovation forward with more confidence — and enjoy it a little more along the way.

Meet Lizzie

I really do love a house project.

I’ve spent more than a decade running a main contractor building business, delivering high-end refurbishments, extensions and back-to-brick renovations for private clients in London.

So I know what happens on the building side of a renovation — the drawings, the decisions, the sequencing, the practicalities and the inevitable questions that come up along the way.

But I’m also a homeowner and serial renovator. I know what it’s like to make decisions about your own home, live through the disruption, spend a serious amount of money and wonder whether you’ve thought of everything.

I started this because I saw how useful it can be to have someone who understands both sides — someone you can call, ask the question you’re slightly embarrassed to ask, and talk things through with without feeling like you’re being difficult.

And I genuinely think renovating your home should be exciting too. There’s a lot to navigate, but you shouldn’t have to navigate it all on your own.

How I can help

Start with a conversation.

You don’t need to know exactly what sort of support you need before getting in touch.

We start with a 15-minute chat about your project, where you are and what you’re navigating.

From there, we’ll work out what would be most useful — whether that’s a Project Review, occasional advice or ongoing Renovation Advisory.

01Project Review

A focused review of your renovation and where you are right now.

Before we speak, I’ll look through the information you send me and get familiar with your project. We’ll then have a 60–90 minute conversation to talk through what’s in front of you, the decisions you’re considering and anything you’re unsure about.

You’ll come away with a clearer view of what matters, what to consider next and where you may need further professional input, followed by a short written summary of our discussion and agreed next steps.

02Ongoing advice

For when you need an experienced sounding board at particular points in your renovation.

Talk through a decision, review something with me, prepare for a conversation with your builder or simply get another perspective when you need it.

03Renovation Advisory

Ongoing support throughout your renovation, with me alongside you as the project develops.

I’ll help you navigate the decisions, understand what’s happening, keep sight of the bigger picture and bring in the right people when needed.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as a project manager?+

No. I don’t run your project or take over from your architect, builder or designer. I work independently for you, helping you understand what’s happening and work through the decisions.

When should I involve you?+

Whenever you feel you’d benefit from an experienced sounding board — from the early planning stages through to construction and snagging.

Do you work with architects and builders?+

Absolutely. I can work alongside the professionals you’ve already chosen. If you’re still putting your team together, I can also help you work out who you need and what to look for.

What sort of projects do you work with?+

All sorts. From smaller refurbishments and individual rooms to substantial extensions and whole-house renovations. It doesn’t have to be a huge project — if you’re feeling overwhelmed, unsure where to start or simply feel like you could do with an experienced hand alongside you, that’s when I can help.
